Kudzu vine (Pueraria lobata) 葛(クズ)

この植物は、雑草を代表するぐらいの存在感があります。

よく電柱なんかが クズで覆われてたり、地面や崖を覆い尽くしているのを見かけます。

また、草刈のときは、引っ張っても切れたりせず、草刈機でもなかなか刈れない厄介者です。

しかし、利用価値は高く、根をすりつぶし、寒ざらしにすれば葛粉がとれ、くずきりなどの材料になります。　そして、うちのウサギ(コロ松)の大好物でもあります(´∀｀)

花はそこそこ大きいのですが、生い茂る葉の影にひっそりと咲くので、あまり目立ちません。

見ようによっては、藤を上下逆さまにした感じなのですが、なぜか毒々しくて 遠目には美しくないです。

近づいて見ると、一つ一つの花の形がわかり、マメ科特有の可愛い花なのですけどね～。
